TALL AND SMALL

In my garden I planted a tree;

It was very small and free.

In every direction I bended it;

It doesn't hurt it a bit.

Wherever I wanted it to go;

I would make it bow.

Many years passed by;

But we were there, tree and I.

Now the tree was very tall;

And I was left small.

I went near the tree;

And bend it towards me.

It cried aloud NO;

Now you can't make me bow.

Now I am stiff, firm and tall;

Bend me and you will miss your pal.

You will break me if you try to bend;

And then I can never ever mend.

Once, I was walking with a friend;

He said a small tree can be bend.

But a tall tree will always defend;

And not let you himself bend.
