THE OLD RIVER

Tags: Corruption

The poem is about corruption. How everything was alright ages hence. And now what man has done. Everywhere is corruption. If there would be no corruption everything would be fine and peaceful.

THE RIVER

Once there was a river;

The water in it was fewer.

But it was clean and clear;

Its sound was good to ear.

The man guarded it for satisfaction;

And he saved it from corruption.

Everybody wanted to be the first;

To drink water and quench his thirst.

And then came the modern world;

Water is precious they were told.

If you keep it clean good and nice;

Make it corrupt, you will pay the price.

Now the water was in large quantity;

But it had lost its old quality.

Man corrupted it and made it dirty;

There was no water for who was thirsty.

He thought that he was very bold;

But he forgot what was foretold.

Once from a ship the man looked around;

A wave came and he gets drowned.
