What the Future Holds...

Poetry By: imaginarilyawesome

This is my first poem. It's not amazing or anything like that, but it's sort of how I feel a lot of the time, so it came out in this form:)

Do you ever wonder,

What will happen next?

Do you ever ponder,

What will be the outcome?

Do you ever shed a tear,

Thinking how fast time flies by?

Do you ever shake in fear,

Thinking what the future holds?

Yes, this is how I feel.

I watch the time pass me by

And I see it's very real.

Time moves on, and always will.

I sometimes wish I could stop the clock,

And make the time stand still.

Be as pointless as it may,

But it scares me half to death each moment,

So I wish it anyway.

I worry too much, I know.

I stress about everything you could possibly name,

Arranged into columns and rows.

But nothing scares me more,

Than what the future could hold for me.

It sickens me down to my core.

What if I can't handle it?

What if I cave under the pressure of life,

And end up ruining it?

So yes, I shed my tears.

Yes, I shake in fear.

I wonder,

And I ponder.

But I hold myself up.

I keep myself together.

Because, you know what?

Life's not over yet...
