The key inserted hesitantly
The odour struck immediately
His bedroom enveloped completely
We surveyed the damage gravely
Approached hospital swiftly
Smiled at him benevolently
Although viewed abhorrently
We knew to grieve discreetly
Argued his case rationally
Like his mother actually
Would not do consistently
So no mental health facility
He returned sheepishly
Forced into complexity
A future of uncertainty
An absence of lucidity
Dogs love their friends and bite their enemies, quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure love and always have to mix love and hate ~ Sigmund Freud
My Normally Considerate Daughter
She glared at him
As we all ate
With unconcealed
Love and hate
She uttered words
She shouldn’t mention
‘You simply did it
For attention’.
