Painful meal with adored ones
Tetchy daughter; tragic son
She in state of irritation
He in one of frustration
Tried to find some common ground
But there was none to be found
Her with look of amusement
His more one of bemusement
Mine one of resigned oppression;
Each struggling with own depression
Tried to find some common ground
But there was none to be found
Each with tears refusing to fall
Silent memories scared to recall
Smiles strained filled with pain
Strength attempting to regain
Tried to find some common ground
But there was none to be found
