Used And Bruised
You look back again to linger on the lean frame of him
Suddenly your vision clears, your world doesn't seem so dim
*
Between you moments pass, before he comes over and asks 'What's your name?'
You remember now, it was after that day that your life was never the same
*
You small talk, then he breaks the ice and asks for your number
Without hesitating you hand it over, feeling like you're waking from heavy slumber
*
Days and weeks pass you by
With him you feel unbound to time
*
'Will you be my girl?' he says quietly, voice husky laced with a smile
Warmth floods you, 'Yes' you say without a pause to think if its worthwhile
*
You skip classes to meet him at the park
Somehow with him the light in your eyes can spark
*
Saturday morning you get a phone call
He wants to meet you at nightfall
*
So you tell your folks you're at a friend's sleepover
And meet him at a club while he's far from sober
*
He hands you a drink, says its not too strong
You take a sip, though it feels so wrong
*
What happens later you can hardly remember
But you're at his house lying on a lounger
*
He took off your shoes and covered you with a blanket
You know he's the one for he didn't take advantage
*
Its perfect, it's bliss, mirroring a relationship you've only ever dreamed
You can't imagine being without him, he makes you whole, with him you're a team
*
'I love you,' he holds you close and whispers in you ear
You devour the three small words you've longed to hear
*
His hand is on your waist, then he's pushing up your skirt
It's doesn't feel right, it's too early, so you draw back with some effort
*
He apologizes, promises to take things slow
He looks sincere, so you see him with a halo
*
Then its your anniversary night
And its feeling like everything will be alright
*
Cause a year has come and fled
You let him lead you to his bed
*
Foreplay doesn't last, and he slips in
All you're looking for are those sparks that fly within
*
But he's going too fast and its hurting you inside
Clenching your fists, you turn away and your tears you hide
*
Its finally over; he cums, then collapses on you
You hold back the sigh; you cried, then you withdrew
*
He mumbles, “Beautiful.” and you didn't argue
You wish you had because he meant the sex, and not you
*
After that night he seemed to just disappear
You try to justify his actions, its so unclear
*
Weeks and months have passed
Day by day you feel outcast
*
Only now do you see how he played you like a toy
He played you well, you he destroyed
*
Hurt claws at your insides, you don't let it show
Piece by piece you fall apart, painfully slow
*
He's the demon in your nightmares, whispering 'Sweetheart'
You feel loathsomely naive, it seems what you had wasn't a work of art
*
You thought you took the precautions, and that you were safe
But karma comes back around to punch you in the face
*
Sinking in regrets, you yearn to go back in time
To stop and think once before crossing that line
*
No option remains, there is no future in your eyes
With nobody to lean on, nobody to hear your nightly cries
*
Each breath you take is labored in dense distraught
You're on the edge of rationality, risking sanity with this thought;
*
How do you tell your parents to just assume
That at sixteen you're carrying an embryo in your womb?
*
And the father to the child has fled, you are nothing but alone
With a baby, another life, to bring up on your own
