Poor Dame

Poetry By: IrisCale

I made a poem when i got bored. It's about a young lady who doesn't want to accept reality. She doesn't want to know the truth about life 'cause she thinks she can't take it. And she was given a choice to lead a good life and was fine for a moment, but she ended up in the same tangle again though now she knows what to do.

Realization hits a dame
with its soft palm.
She back away
not wanting to believe.
Then dwindled down
a deep, dark realm,
Bawling reasons that
cannot be.

Explanation rolls over
the dame's blanked mind.
Understanding everything,
but not wishing to.
Erasing the thought,
bequeath it behind.
Keeps coming back,
got nothing to do.

Options behold themselves
before the dame's eyes.
Can't determine for
she is not certain.
Knowing that every choice
has its own surprise.
Carefully chooses right over wrong,
relief swallows her then.

Commotion swallows the
dame once more.
Tries shoving away what
keeps emerging back.
Realization, explanations and
options galore!
A riddle to solve, a life to lead,
conscience now intact!
