'tis one of the clock

A bit of nonsense I did whilst under the influence of creativity, that doesn't mean it's any good!

Tis one of the clock
Pre-noon
And all is stillness.

Save for the ticking smiles;
And they come
And they go
And in-between
All is stillness.

Opaque shimmering reflect
The souls of men, complete
But for their missing,
Ticking, smiles.

The Owl stares not in belief
And slips to miss the mouse
Who in turn halts grovelling
Confronted by a ticking smile.

The town clock's bell
Rings out a hundred
As it tumbles,
Down, down, down.
Dislodged it is said
By the kiss of a ticking smile.

A hoarse laugh
Skips around the moon
Being chased there-to
By so many ticking smiles.

And look! Strange giggle,
All torn and tattered,
Raped, she said,
By a thousand ticking smiles.

But now the seven is upon
And souls of men must return
And so awaken, tired men
And wonder not at thy
Ticking smiles.
