Screaming,
Pounding,
Does anybody hear me?
Suffocating,
Drowning,
Against the tide I'm struggling
Fighting,
Dividing,
My family tears around me
They're siding,
Sides solidifying,
I find myself caught in the in-between
Exploding,
Bombarding,
Every shot reverberating
The blasting,
The shelling,
No man's land is ugly
Mediating,
Failing,
This Switzerland is bleeding
Crying,
Falling,
Gunshot wounds from those who loved me
Raging,
Aching,
In their own pain they're destroying me
The tormenting,
The questioning,
How can I choose between!?
Loving now is
Misery
I can't pick sides, can't fight against family
They're resting—
Now reloading
My eyes shut tight as the next round blasts around me
Collapsing
Praying
Screaming to the One who can stop their warring
Pausing,
Listening—
An empty sky of silence in reply to me
Finally
Surrendering
The fighting is too much, I can't go on in this icy hell of in-between
