The light warns me of her arrival
I should flee
Take cover until the night
But she beckons to me
And I wish to reply
It has been long since I saw her beauty
Though even the memory pains me
I could simply wait here
And meet her once she rises
But can I
Can I force myself to give it up
Even a damned life
Even a façade
Even a lie of a soul
Is better than death
I waded the waters of Death
I fought to reemerge into Life
A broken
Miserable
Thirsty
Soul
But she beckons to me
Calls me to stay put
To watch her rise
To cast away my pain
I would let her heal my wounds
But my flesh is scaring
As her warning lights grow
And so I go
And hide from her truth
And hide from her hope
And hide from her joy
And from her promise
Of a new life
I hide.

I Like it ALOT. It moves and breaths, and it has just the right amount of imagery. Not too much, and not too little. I think it lacks maybe rhythm, though. Not enough flow or balance... But I love this poem regardless. 10 points!!!!!
