That might just set her free
For fear of repercussions
To a dream that's out of reach
Shaking with an elegance
She tends to close her eyes
Pretending that the pain
Comes as no surprise
Struggling to find the moment
Past insecurities
A reason behind the smile
A fantasy to believe
But she withdraws as usual
And he patiently waits
As if she will change her mind
But she closes the gates
The time, it ticks with anguish
As he holds her trembling hand
So greateful for his kindness
but knows he doesn't understand
He pleads with his eyes
But she remains unspoken
The last minute dances by
And the quiet spell is broken
She reaches for her coat
Letting out a gentle sigh
And steals his gaze forever
As she turns and says goodbye
