Prison Break.

Poetry By: Izzie Thomas

We, in general, are stuck in a close minded box full of destructive behavior and ideals. It makes me sad and hopeful for a dramatic change in people.

Prison Break

I'm brought back from the depths of my desires into the world that drives me into them.

I am a constant prisoner of my society's norms; Caged by young rituals with archaic crux's.

I look in the mirror and see so many young faces arrested by the same militiant force.

Your laws incriminate when they should exonerate.

You hate when you should love.

And your ears suddenly go deaf in the midst of the truth.

You have forgotten how to live, but I haven't.

Though, we just learned to walk, we as a whole can stand together and change this.

However, until we take refuge as one, I cannot stay here.

I must go.
