Dreams of Satin

Poetry By: Izzy Maxx

I wrote this after I told a boy I like him, and now he is my boyfriend. I never showed him this poem, but maybe I will someday. (He told me he loves me! And I love him too!)

I had seen you skulking the corners of the world,
Hiding from it, or, just maybe,
Searching for something.

I had always seen you and sympathized,
And when I met you, that sympathy,
Became empathy.

You told me of your struggles,
And I told you of mine.
I realized we weren't very different.

And as time grew on, as we talked,
I came to realize in myself,
It was you I sought.

You're the one, that one, supposed to save me,
Lift me, keep me from my deaths.
Now, I think we can be.
All in my Dreams of Satin.
