My take on a bit of The Dark Crystal. It's one of my favorite movies.

I had a friend

Bound by being the same

But we had our differences

We were our own selves

United in Evil

But that's all we knew

Never really trusting each other

Never showing our tell

We both had a goal

Always strived for the best

Always wanting more

Forever expanding our riches

We made our own friends

To only further our plans

To gain more support

To carve out more niches

But when the time came

To step on each other

'both reached for the scepter

To sit on our throne

To bicker like children

Not knowing to reason

There is only one way

To trial by stone

It's not our fault

It's  just the half we were given

To change us would be

To take the pricks from a thistle

We were so arrogant

We thought we were gods

We wanted it all

So we broke the Dark Crystal
