A poem about jail

Cramped

Ten by Six

Cold cement

Judge Says

Ninety Days

Serve your time

Walk the Line

You're free again.

Lights out

at nine

Weeks creep by

Left Thinkin'

Heart sinkin'

Each hour

Tastes sour

The Minute hand on five.

Seeing stars

through bars

and chains.

Deny the blame.

Shameful tears.

Head Held in prayer.

Starin' at walls

and waiting.

Waiting.
