The passion of a poem - hoping that those who hear it- get it

Centerstage

You read from pages

Judged

by snaps and claps.

Recite.

Scribbled lines in blue ink

Soul like salt and lime.

Wave the Black flag.

Hope the man can see.

Can understand.

what lies beneath.

Nervous speech.

Anger.

Burning.

Deep inside.

Volcano.

Release the Mind.

Staring at blank walls.

Come one, Come all.

Eager

to hear

with virgin ears.

Spewing forth

Ash and Rhyme.

Waiting to erupt.

While curious faces

watch

The Mic

Silent.

Step away.

Sleep again.
