A quiet walk along the tracks

Molded plastic

baby doll smile

discarded head

in a ditch.

by railroad tracks,

flowers grow between

the gravel.

Empty soda bottles

labels,

faded by the sun.

Dog on a chain

barks in someone's yard

as I walk

wooden ties

in old sneakers.
