Poem doodled in the boredom of class

She was such a lost soul

Forgetting, forgotten, forgetttable

Lost as she was in the light of her goal

Safe in the darkness of her mind

Tears were her comfort, her consol

Life was a foreign thing

Til all her windows were shattered

With the song of beauty

From the voice that did ring

Caught in the hurricane of his eyes

Howling wind, torrent of butterflies

Whipped her lashes

Exposed the slashes on her wrists

Held by the hand, dropped the knives

Closed her eyes

Held her breath

Breathing in her being alive

Open, then saw the face that was next

Just for a moment

The world became known

One brief smile

Then all was gone

Back, snap into the darkness

Away faster than ever she flew

Sinking, spiralling downwards

Til at last her final peace she knew
