Glass Heart Of Mine

By: Jace

Page 1, The glass cat

I stand brittle, fragile
Locked into a frozen smile
With my eyes cold, hard
To keep watch for my body I guard

Afraid of being broken
Shattered to pieces
Every moment the fear
Of my end increases

Please, please leave me here
To weep in disgrace for my fear
Alone and so lost do I pine
For some pain from this glass heart of mine

The beauty and wonder I am
For gawking and pleasure of them
The gloss and the grace
My see-through estate
But still they see nothing of me but a cold crystal gem

Please, please leave me here
To weep in disgrace for my fear
Alone and so lost do I pine
For some pain from this glass heart of mine

The tin man he longs for a heart
And the scare crow a brain for a start
The lion his courage
Yet I am purr with pure rage
With my hopelessness for I lack no part

Please, please leave me here
To weep in disgrace for my fear
Alone and so lost do I pine
For some pain from this glass heart of mine
Lovely as I may be

This invisibility is a curse to me

I long for the freedom color brings

Each passing moment
My soul gets more broken
With the cracks that they never see
