I made a promise that I can not keep.

My love, I broke my promise today
To restrain from my harmful old ways
So I hid in the sleeves of my smile
I hide in my secrets most vile

Just one way of embracing liberating pain
Just one way to remind I'm still alive
The only way I can still remember my name
The blood that keeps lets me survive

The scars they get longer and darker
As the wounds through my mind do race
With the dripping away of my sorrow
My fears and sadness I erase

Just one way of embracing liberating pain
Just one way to remind I'm still alive
The only way I can still remember my name
The blood that keeps lets me survive

I can't explain what can't be felt
Through my alone throbbing whelt
And I know that you wish me the best
But there's not much to wish on what's left

Just one way of embracing liberating pain
Just one way to remind I'm still alive
The only way I can still remember my name
The blood that keeps lets me survive

The pinprick of needles is just seeping
The cut of the knife only stings
But words of your disappointment stab me deeply
The look in your eyes breaks my wings
