Kneeling before your tombstone.
Three long years have passed.
Memories of our time together accompany me day and night.
I usually smile, but still sometimes break down and cry.
Standing up I see the statue of Jesus,
His hands folded and head bowed in eternal prayer.
His presence protecting His children from evil spirits.
Looking to the heavens I see our special star.
It is twinkling especially bright tonight.
I bet you made it do so just for me.
I bow my head to pray, but a miracle appears before me.
Your angelic form kneeling at the feet of Jesus.
You turn towards me as I approach.
A look of sadness on your face hurts me,
And I turn to escape the pain.
I reopen my eyes and find myself alone.
I kneel before that holy statue and join Jesus in prayer.
I rise to a sudden, cold wind against my face.
Loneliness consumes me as the tears stream down.
So I turn to the sky to see our star.
The wind rests, and as I wipe my tears I feel
Peace and happiness overcome my heart.
For I see our star shining so clear and bright,
And I know I have been blessed by an angel in the night.
