In the darkness we thrive, we become ourselves.
Where the light goes out,
we're honest, we show our true emotions.
We find ourselves in a total blackness,
that place deep inside,
that overwhelms us.
We run from it, for fear of what it holds.
We're told it's a bad place to be,
we take pills to keep it away.
But when the dust settles inside,
when reality sets in,
it's what molds us.
It's what makes us who we are.
Without the pain that darkness brings,
we would be empty inside.
Frozen in time,
by a smile that never fades.
Never understanding why it's been put there.
The darkness makes us grow,
lets us enjoy the light,
once it's been found again.
Embrace the dark when it comes,
struggle on, move forward,
become the person you were meant to be.
Become great.
Walk out of your darkness,
let the world see.
