Jesus The Victor

ByJeff Shumate 2009

Why is he like that? It happens inside,
The onslaught of anger, the onslaught of pride.
Why is he like that, so full of rage?
Where does it come from?
Locked deep in a cage.
Who has the key? The monster wants out!
The monster inside, full of anger and pride!
A five-year-old boy,
Hurt by the mortally vain.
A five-year-old boy, in incredible pain.
One day he'll know, one day he'll go!
Anger and pride, want vengeance inside!
One day he'll know, one day he'll go!
Many years later, that day had come,
But Jesus was there,
And Jesus had won.
A five-year-old boy no longer with rage,
Not in a cage,
He now turned the page.
Not understanding,
The forgiveness within,
All he knew
Was Jesus the victor would win!
