A Sweltering Incalescence

Poetry By: Jett Watson
Poetry

A short poem describing summer, in the terms of a lazy, heat-wary being, such as myself.

I am not gifted with the art of poetry, but this was one lucky happenstance where the poem in question simply plopped itself down in my mind and made itself comfortable. It was really rather convenient, because it has been particularly hot today, and I really didn't have the energy to think up something, so that I could at least pretend to myself that I was attempting to meet my writing goals.

On a side note, my wordy title is meant to be humorous, in the way it completely contrasts my poem. That means you're supposed to laugh. Because it's a joke. That means it's funny. Oh, never mind.

Heat.
Heavy.
Weighing on my skin.

Sweat.
Sticky.
Dripping off my chin.

Warmth.
Humid.
Filling up my length.

Air.
Stifling.
Sapping all my strength.

Summer.
Lazy.
Sleeping it away.
