"The Prince of Dublin"
by James V Kane
I
Now there once
Twas a Prince
Out Dublin Way
who "Cursed"!
All Nice Things
Like a Sunny Day
and even
St Patrick!
and the elves
at Play!
For he loved
only His Gold!
and His Grog!
II
So there came
one Eve!
An Enchanted Breeze!
Aye, the Tang
of Honey
And the whir
of Bees!
And the Prince
Fell Asleep
on a woodland Log!
III
Now you can ask
the Elves!
Out Dublin way!
When the stars
are Deep
and the Shadows
Play
They will smile
and Grin
In a knowing
Way
And Point
To a Castle Cold! and Grey!
Where lives
A silly Frog!!
