They build you up,

then tear you down

driving trust and confidence

into the ground.

Why must they play

these evil schemes

trampling hopes,

drowning dreams?

How to avoid

these well planned snares,

a question for ages

born of grief and despair.

On this earth

they may never pay dues,

but in the next life

God knows their real hues.

Lies and deceit

our Father doth hate,

fire and brimstone

the eternal wait.

Indifferent scoundrel,

your heart you must change

or forever roam

Satan's fiery range.
