I guess this isn't a true poem. It doesn't rhyme or have any of the telltale points that poems are suppose to have. But I wrote this for my grandmother who passed away not long ago.

As I sit here and try not to cry.....the certainty that my life is forever changed is there....... like a clock chiming the hour of reckoning.

My mind drifts to a time in my childhood...... when through innocent eyes I looked to you for strength....... You taught me so much in those years...those moments that I try so hard to hold onto.

How happy I was surrounded by family and friends......memories that I'll keep forever.

And when I do cry it won't be for you...... but for me......... Because my life will be a little more empty without you in it.

But even through my tears.... I will smile knowing that you are at peace.

And someday I will see you again.

Give Grandpa a kiss for me. We will all miss you Grams.
