Fragrance of the Flower
Poem 1: The Daffodil
Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved flowers, and her friend, a boy who loved flowers............
The girl came my way
Wondering this day
I came to show you something
that I found along this trail
I thought it was so pretty
Oh, come, don't you agree?
Do you like flowers, pretty flowers, boy?
I smile and say:
Flowers have a beauty which
Is not so easy matched
Their fragrance is a delight
Their beauty is a fact
Thank you for showing me the daffodil
And yes, I do, I do! I like pretty flowers
The girl came my way
Wondering this day
I came to show you something
That I found along this trail
I thought it was so pretty
Oh, come, don't you agree?
Do you like flowers, pretty flowers, boy?
I smile and say:
When I think of flowers, I think of you
And how pretty you are, like a daffodil
You make me go “aawwww”
That's how you make me feel
Thank you for showing me the daffodil
And yes, I do, I do! I like pretty flowers
The girl came my way
Wondering this day
I came to show you something
That I found along this trail
I thought it was so pretty
Oh, come, don't you agree?
Do you like flowers, pretty flowers, boy?
I smile and say:
God made an endless variety of flowers
Countless kinds of species, many kinds of power
The daffodil is one kind of flower
Among thousands
If we started now, I doubt
That we could count them
In the time frame of years
There are so many near
Thank you for showing me the daffodil
And yes, I do, I do! I like pretty flowers
And I think as I go home, I'm going to try
To find a flower to show HER next time
This is a fun hobby for both of us
Finding endless flowers, because because
We both love flowers, so much so much
Until later..........
