The Kitchen Floor

Kerry slumped on the lino floor.

It was only meant to be just a little score.

But alas she crumbled under a single straw.

Kerry died alone on the kitchen floor.

John called out, down an empty hall.

She was not waiting by the front door.

No more could he endure.

He held her tight as blood & tears did fall.

John died alone on the kitchen floor.

Returned invites spread out on the lounge room floor.

Unanswered messages for evermore.

They died alone on the kitchen floor.
