I walk in and there you are
Finally, you are home at last!
Only gone for three weeks
But brother it feels like three years
Much more peaceful while you are around
Not as much yelling or fighting
I wish that you could just stay home this time
I miss having you here every night
I miss our talks when I am down and weak
And our laughs when we reminisce on all those good times
I feel stronger when you are home
Like nothing can get to me while you are there
That feeling is gone the minute that you leave
Like you pack it up and carry it away
I know that you must go
For it is all a part of growing up
I miss you more each time you leave
Watching you drive that car away
But you are happy where you are
And with everything you have achieved
I wish nothing more than the best for you
But I pray that you will come back soon
