visiting my ex in brooklyn...

Brooklyn's below zero tonight.
giggling and balling our fists,
we turned a corner and squealed, exhilarated
as an icy gust shocked our red cheeks.

giggling and balling our fists,
dreaming of radiators and blankets
as an icy gust shocked our red cheeks,
11 degrees seemed a whole lot like -5.

dreaming of radiators and blankets
we hurried through the back door
11 degrees seemed a whole lot like -5.
we shook the slush from our boots.

we hurried through the back door
my feet chased yours across the hardwood
we shook the slush from our boots
I found myself desperate to steal your heat.

my feet chased yours across the hardwood.
kneeling on your mattress,
I found myself desperate to steal your heat.
the air braces itself for snowfall.

Kneeling on your mattress,
In this insomniac of a city,
the air braces itself for snowfall
Our breathing perforates the stillness.

In this insomniac of a city,
we turned a corner and squealed, exhilarated
Our breathing perforates the stillness.
Brooklyn's below zero tonight.
