I am

                The aching gut

                The arthritic knuckle

                The corneal abrasion

And you are

                The weight of my skeleton

                The strain of flesh

                The cartilage in my knees

And I am

                The poison marrow

                The glacial pulse

                The creaking spine

And you are

                The breathing

                The digesting

                The pulsing automation

And I am

                The webbed foot

                The degenerate tissue

                The aural hallucination

And you are

                Two Hundred Six bones harder

                Five Hundred Twelve ounces heavier

Six Hundred Thirty Nine fibers stronger

    Than the space between us.
