your eyes all agleam

your passion burning down to the end

anger stains your cheeks
as you look beyond me and seek
your brothers two and adjust
your focus and distrust

he who brought me home died in the war
he who I loved, loved the cherokee girl more
and you who won my body in the spoils
jealousy tore into your heart and now recoils
v
bitter flavor of happiness lost stings
those who loved tristan most must bring
their crazy hearts to the final toast
to the legend of an unholy ghost
