A Promise for You

Poetry By: Kalena

Based off of a dream I had over the summer about a dear friend who died. Loose interpretation anyways, the point is that love breaks and makes people into who we are as individuals. it can ruin us, or make us stronger.

A Promise for You
I had a dream you were dead
My heart has never felt something so intense as this dread
My heart broke as you died
Bleeding out in my arms, great rivers I cried
Killed by a jealous ex
Filled with a rage possessed only by your sex
Between us there had been a undenied love
One the gods themselves were jealous of,
Far up in their kingdoms above
With you I traveled and adventured
You took me to places where my senses were captured
Joy of my life I am nothing now
To avenge your memory is my sole vow
Wait for me at the gate, even if it seems like forever
You can be sure your heart I'll never sever
This need for revenge may in no way ever be sated
But my devotion for you shall never be abated.
