A small poem I wrote at sunset today..

The sun sets on another day,

All the shadows come out to play,

The clouds painted apricot, pink and red,

While the dust motes twirl and dance,

Illuminated by the fading golden sunlight,

The birds flying in to roost for the night,

The blue of the sky fading away,

Soon to turn to diamonds and velvet,

The scents of the Autumn night cold but sweet,

As the sun finally drifts to sleep,

We sit together, we laugh, we dream,

Trust and acceptance keeping us close,

And all through the night,

We are bathed in silver light.
