I remember I used to cry
When I saw your face
It was too much to take
I was so into you

I gave you excuse after excuse for the way you treated me
And when you finally decided to change
It was too late
I couldn't stand you

And now I've met this guy
This wonderful guy
He makes me feel like a teenager in love
He makes me feel like I can do nothing wrong

This is love

I miss him when he's right next to me
I blink my eyes
And miss him the moment he's out of my vision
I lay down to sleep
And hold him tight,
Never a chance to let him out of my grasp

I hated you
Thought I loved you
Thought you were it
Tried for your heart after it was done
And now I'm glad you stuck to your guns
I'm glad I didn't get sucked back in
Who knows if I would've ever gotten out

If I would've ever had the chance to be truly happy

Thank you
Thank you for showing me the wrong in a relationship
The way I shouldn't be treated or treat others
Thank you for tearing me down
And helping me build up all these walls I have surrounding myself

I knew the person who accepted all my baggage
And tore down my barriers,
Would be the one
My soul mate, my best friend
My everything

Thank you
You may have not led me to him,
But you helped me realize his significance

I will marry this man
Finally, I'm happy now
