The Religious Education Teacher
We volunteer to shed some light
On God’s great love and prayers that might
Be used to teach the young of heart
To learn God’s goodness from the start.
We search each week for a new idea
To teach our children so they will hear
The words of God the gospels tell
To explain these words this may compel
Teaching through art, music and costume dressing
In preparation to receive God’s blessing
Learning that love and forgiveness is God’s way
We reach out to our children every Sunday.
From pre-school through the teenage years
The words of God are made quite clear
We share our skills seeking not reward
Because we are servants of the Lord.
