A sense of weakness overcomes
When you speak your words so sweetly.
Then all I can do is twiddle my thumbs,
And smile at you discreetly.
Apprehension of what's to come
Makes me feeble and weary.
My heart is beating like a drum,
Which is why I am so leery.
Your smile so perfect;
Your heart so kind;
I never would neglect
Because someone like you, with words so true, is awfully hard to find.
I get distressed with the thought of us being nothing more,
But then you speak those words.
Those words you speak so sweetly,
And all I can do is smile at you.
Smile at you discreetly.
