What I Want My Words to Do

I want my words to make you laugh

Make you see the world in a new way.

To make you understand that even in the darkest corner

You can still find light.

I want my words to give you hope,

To make you think ahead.

To make you wonder.

I want my words to make you feel the wind on your face

The sun in your hair

The ground underneath your feet

I want my words to attack you

In a way that attaches you to them

Makes you want to follow them

Makes you trust them

I want my words to make your heart swell

Your cheeks blush

Your eyes water

I want my words to insert themselves

Into your memory

I want you to remember my words

Look back on them

Share them

I want my words to fill up the night sky

To reach the stars

To shape and mold your character

Make you think twice

For if my words can do this

Then we can both feel the same about life

And if we both feel this way

Then I will always be in your memory

Whether it be on the page

Or in the atmosphere

Or in the ground below
