Once I had her.
Holding her close to me, I felt secure.
Having to let go, was almost more than I could bear.
Obviously, I had too.
Wondering why it couldn’t have been different, I still ache for your touch.
Losing you was the hardest thing I ever did.
Only you could touch the unseen parts I never offered anyone else.
Voracious in our passion; I never wanted it to end.
Every time I think of you, I can’t help but wish things had been different.
Hating you was never an option.
Usually I can walk away with no doubts, or regrets.
Rising through the pain; I still admit my love for you.
Though keeping you was just a dream, I still wanted too.
Someday I hope to look back without hurting; without wanting you.
