The Walls

Poetry By: kidarox123

This is a poem about when you let let your walls fall down and try to let somebody in, but they won't let their walls down for you. Very metaphoric, i hope you can understand it!

The Walls

The time has come for all my walls to come down,
They fall around me, silent in their crash,
Not a piece is upset as they lie there,
leaving me naked and yet i feel so unashamed,

The rain comes pouring down but i don't feel a drop,
I am numb in the pain of being open,
Unprotected from the future of heart break,
Neglected by my conscience and confidence,

You hold out your arms and welcome me in,
but i can't take a step towards you,
you are covered by the rough walls of your past,
No doors are to be seen,

So i stand longer in the wind,
shivering in the cold air that i am open too,
you stay blocked up and covered,
nice an warm in your comfort zone,

You can't see me suffering because there are no windows,
in all the walls that you have built,
You have blocked yourself in, leaving no escape,
You imagine what you think is there,

Slowly the sun comes out and now i am shriveled,
I have become old in the time you ignored,
The rays of light shine on the pieces of my wall,
and slowly i start to build once more,

Stronger and higher, completely invisible,
My hands bleed from the work, i have not stopped yet,
Because now i know how the pieces fit together,
there will be no holes or cracks,

I stand in the middle of a room surrounded by flawless walls,
i have put no ceiling, because i have watched you hurt me,
I have learend how to love, and you never did,
Now i am gone, i am saving myself for the man,

Who can pull me out.
