Unfair decision

I have to set you free

I have to let you go

How much I dread this decision

You will never know

Unlucky I am to not have you

My love for you is true

You said you loved me too

Then why do you have to leave?

I hope this relieves you of guilt

You've been like a comforting quilt

Your love is the purest feeling I've known

With your love, sensible I've grown

I hope you keep your commitment to her

For now you have nothing to fear

You have no obligation towards me

You never made a promise to me

True love is selfless so I've heard

Then maybe I am doing the right thing

But then why does my heart hurt?

Why is it unfair to me?
