I never liked boxes
You can never fit enough things into it.
But I’ve been put in a box,
It’s bottomless like a well.
It has tons of other people in it too.
They are the same
And they are different from me.
This box I’ve been placed in
Is labeled as “Smart, Quiet, Readers”
But I’m not always quiet,
And I don’t always read.
I can be loud when I want,
And I play sports and video games.
I even write a little
But I think
That people shouldn’t place others in boxes
Some of us don’t belong in the ones that we are put in.
We all might as well
Each have our own box
Labeled with just our name.
But again,
I never liked boxes.
