Reflection of the Beast
Cruel magnificent Beast
Lo' how it frightens me so!
Lanky limbs and knobby bones
And horrible pale, pale skin.
Ah yet it is the eyes!
Yes! Dark, deep, and evil.
Completely evil.
The darkest centers of hell may cower
Before those vindictive eyes.
The Secret lies in those eyes.
Mysterious, frightening, Secret.
No one must know! No one!
There is no monster here
The Beast is nonexistent
Yet it persists!
Haunting me with its shaggy presence
Its ever watching Eyes
Parasitic, benign, yet only resting.
Oh, why wont it just go?
I shut my eyes but Alas!
I have only to see the Beast again
Staring, waiting, brooding.
A grin creeps across my face
I know now! The Secret!
A strange light floods my eyes
You may think I am mad, yet
Am I not sane in Knowing?
The Beast's reflection shows
It also Knows! The Secret! Truth!
I wildly tear at my shirt
Beating my bear chest
Oh can't you see the Secret?
Yet it is still here! The Beast!
Mocking me, mimicking me.
Ha! But I was ready!
The cold steel parted flesh
And the red liquid spilled.
My senses suddenly cleared
And I Knew my Beast.
Lanky limbs with pale white skin
Dark brown curly hair on the head
Red liquid running down its arm
Deep dark eyes holding a mad Secret.
Knowing eyes. Evil eyes.
And I Knew myself
My Secret
My Failure
My Big Brother
My Beast.
