One thousand years.
A millenium.
The history of man has changed
People lived, and fell.
But one being,
One living organism,
Out-lived history.
Saw more saddness and happyness than any man.
A tree.
Tall and proud,
But respectfull and lonley.
Its leaves wisper the story
Of its lonley life
The people that sat under it,
Fought under it,
Loved under it.
The history of man
Sung from its lonley branches,
The knowledge of nature
carved on its proud bark
Imagine what will happen if it talked
If its bark preached the knowledge,
And the leaves teached history.
Why cant man listen
To this old, lonley tree?
Because even after one thousand years,
Man has yet to speak.
