That smell
What is it?
It swarms around me
Suffocating my thoughts.
It slides down the back of my throat
Like a thick mucus
In need of release.
Each step on the worn rug
Sends puffs of the smell into the air.
It attaches to every surface
Like a lurking creeper
Waiting to invade.
It latches onto my skin
Like a blood-thirsty leech
Delving deeper, searching.
An uncommon aroma.
Almost original.
Almost recognizable.
The smell
Of my room.
