Books are nothing special, right?

It does not make a spectacular retreat.

It does not battle tap-dancing sheep.

It does not leave prisoners dangling by the feet.

It's just a book.

It does not summon a dastardly spell.

It does not conjure demons from hell.

It does not sing a melancholy knell.

It's just a book.

It does not scream at passersby.

It does not have the will to die.

It does not weave a deadly lie.

It's just a book.

It does not travel swathed in dark.

It does not answer with a sly remark.

It does not dance naked in the park.

"It's just a book," my teacher said.

"Get that through your abnormally thick head."
