Avoiding footsteps, but walkin’ in the rain
Feel the tension of my intensions
A quarter past the hour, never the same
Feels like heaven has?turned to pain
?So do ya realize now it could be over before it ever even started
You try to penalize all the flowers that you never even smell
?So then ya walk with angels
Sympathize with all the grief inside
And then ya, walk with angels
Too late to say good-bye
?Countin’ cars as they roll down the hills
Another sunset as the full moon subsides
The rainbows disappear before they are seen
So do ya turn your head to avoid the scence
?But then ya compromise all the questions you hid in the box
And then ya analyze all the answers locked behind clear doors
?Watchin’ walls fall in the lights go low
Spinnin’ bottles on a concrete floor
Bendin’ rules to make life more fun
Dancin’ on the tables while the water runs dry
Tellin’ fables about the way things were
Turnin’ fiction into fact to give substance worth
They’ll screen your name and say you don’t exist
It could be worse, but it’s a really short list
?So now you’re hypnotized by the strangeness of another man’s voice
So you could undermine the pain that’s fled
?So now ya, walk with angels
Sympathize with all the grief inside
And now ya, walk with angels
Too late to say good-bye
