Just Something I Always Lose

Poetry By: l1ghtningst0rm
Poetry

My mother was subject to domestic violence in the early years of my life, which as you can imagine, was pretty horrific. I'm glad that we were able to get out of that situation and have moved on with our lives, because, had we have stayed, the ending to our story could be a lot worse. So, this poem goes out to all those suffering from domestic abuse or violence of any kind. Stay strong and remember people do care and you can get out of this.

Slam!

The door closes, after lunch.

Wham!

The impact of the punch.

Crash!

Falling to the floor.

Smash!

Running to the door.

Bang!

Disappointment, it's locked.

Clang!

Turning, he must have clocked.

Slap!

Another bruise.

Clap!

Once again, I lose.

Smack!

Up against the wall.

Black!

Waiting to fall.

Whoosh!

Instead I fly.

Soar!

High in the sky.

Shock!

People in the clouds.

Horror!

Too late, no one can save me now.
