A quirk a smile a yawn a sigh
A nuzzle a whimper a wink
A wag a nip a woof so high
My heart and yours they link
A pat a stroke a soft word spoken
Into your mistreated ears
A look a piece of friendship’s token
Happiness growing from fears
A kiss a scratch a stretch a groan
Learning to trust may take awhile
A brush a collar a bed a home
I feel whole when I see your little half smile
